COBURG, Germany, July 6, 2016 -- Outertech has released GetDiz 4.91Text Editor and Notepad Replacement.
GetDiz is a Notepad replacement that offers a wide range of features while maintaining speed, ease of use, stability, and small size. The user interface is handy, small, specific, and configurable. Different fonts for different text file types can be configured. For example one font for .txt, and another font for .nfo files.
GetDiz user interface is kept clean, so users can concentrate on text reading or editing. An optional USB-Stick installation is possible (GetDiz portable version is included in default installer). GetDiz offers text formatting function and can convert Unix/Linux texts to Windows. GetDiz is available for free.
GetDiz includes enhanced functionality with DIZ and NFO files, which are often included in ZIP and RAR archives. GetDiz is able to display ASCII art correctly. Text, NFO and DIZ files can be also saved as GIF images.
ASCII art is a graphic design technique that uses pieces of printable text defined by the ASCII standard character set alongside with proprietary extended characters. The term is also used to refer to text-based art in general. ASCII art is often found in DIZ and NFO text files, which in turn are included within ZIP and RAR archives. Among with correct ASCII art display, GetDiz offers you the possibility to save any .txt, .diz or .nfo files as GIF images.
