ReaSoft announces reaConverter 7 Lite – a free version of reaConverter batch image conversion tool featuring effortless format transformation, editing and creative retouching of images. The Lite version supports 5 most popular formats: BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF both for reading and for writing, and all editing options of the full version including color and position alteration, watermarks, retouching and other features.
Designers often need a simple way to transform one image format to another making quick adjustments along the way. Using cumbersome graphic editors for this task is unpractical – too much time, too much efforts. ReaSoft releases a free version of its acclaimed image conversion utility reaConverter to help designers and other creative people solve this problem without rolling out big guns like Photoshop.
reConverter 7 Lite performs image format conversion in just a few clicks. A user adds files he or she wants to convert, selects the output format and clicks the Start button. In such a straightforward way to work this out, the whole process of converting say a number of JPEG files to TIFF takes just a minute or so. reaConverter Lite supports five major formats and offers direct conversion from each one to each other.
Importantly, the program offers more than a trivial metamorphosis of picture formats. Thanks to the built-in editor, a user can apply a number of typical graphics editing operations to multiple images at once – the same time they are being converted. Cropping images, resizing them down to specified resolution, adjusting color balance, brightness and contrast, adding watermarks or rotating images – editing capabilities of reaConverter Lite exactly match those of the full-featured edition. Powerful retouching options also migrated to the Lite version: anti-aliasing, lens correction, JPEG artifacts removal, blur, shadow and others.
A critical issue when dealing with multiple conversions is performance. Luckily, free reaConverter Lite shares the same multi-thread engine with the paid tool, and therefore delivers extremely fast paced image conversion that is currently second to none on the market.
Pricing and availability
reaConverter 7 is available for the range of Windows OS from XP to 8 and is presented in 3 licenses: Lite edition for basic image processing, Standard edition for typical graphical industry tasks and Pro edition with enhanced capabilities for developers. The Lite version is free and offers no automated functions such as the hallmark Watch Folders option and command line execution.
