Over 6,500 carefully selected quotes, sayings and ideas are organized into 81 major subjects and consistently subdivided into 7 sections. The first version of this program was released in 1988 before the internet era. Now there are lots of great quotes buried among the myriad available online. But quantity is not synonymous with quality. The best book doesn't always have the most pages. Few movie critics think the longest film is the best. This is a collection for people whose time is valuable.
Key program features not found on the net are:
Major Subjects: All related minor subjects grouped together into a major subject. Users can find what they need in one place. For example, the major subject of CHARACTER includes minor subjects such as Dignity, Ethics, Honor, Integrity and Reputation.
Sections: Each subject is subdivided into 7 sections. Sections give the user more benefit than any other organizational technique. Here's why. Quotations make every one more authoritative. They add another voice. But to be really effective, the quotation has to reinforce the user's point of view. When subjects are consistently divided into sections, such as Positive, Negative, Advice, etc., it enables the user to read 80% fewer quotes and yet still find the best quote for their purpose.
Selectivity: Out of the vast treasure chest of antiquity only 6,561 of the best quotes, sayings and ideas are included.
Other notable program features include:
Quote-A-Day - Enables the user to start every Windows session with a randomly selected quote. It is installed into the Startup group automatically.
Filters - Users can customize program output. For example, if the user turns the Short filter on, he'll only see Short quotes.
Open Database System - Users can Add, Edit and Delete their own quotes or records.
Multiple Indexes - Users can access records in different sequences
Variable Browser - View the first line of 20 quotes at one time in a tabular format.
Subtitle Index - Find quotes with a combination of two subjects, i.e., Wisdom and Folly.
Author Biographical Snapshots provide information about an author while the user is reading their quote.
The following output functions are reversed in the evaluation version: Print, Disk Write, Clipboard, HTML Code Generation and Email Signatures
